I’ve had this recent urge to change my style up, go a little bit more out of the box and experience with different colors and textures. Fashion is an art, it’s a way of expression and it changes with how you feel. Right now, I feel like something is changing, my mind is working a lot, which is not a bad thing. I guess that translates in the way you dress.
I definitely noticed that patent has been making a come back. It’s not longer this cheap material but can actually be styled in a very fashionable way. I loved everything about this trench coat, first it’s a trench coat, second it’s black and last it’s patent.
Paired with white trainers, it’s a more casual look but if you want to go full on you could wear it with black heels which would look amazing. I love bold pieces that make a statement. Doesn’t matter what you’re wearing underneath, you could even not be wearing anything haha, it’s all about the trench.
I was kindly invited by Dorothy Majcher, whom I had spoken with by email, to visit her salon in Holland Park called Scissor’s Palace. This salon was unique because not only could you get your hair cut there, you could get your whole beauty routine done. All of that in just an hour. The perfect concept for a big city like London where everyone is busy. You can basically walk in at your lunch time and walk out looking like new. Not only do they have a beautiful hair saloon, they have a whole area upstairs for all the other beauty treatments. Nails, massage, facials, waxing, you name it! You will have several people working on you at the same time which cuts the time in half.
In addition, I really liked that they have private rooms that are complimentary which you can request to get your treatments done. I do find that sometimes, especially at peak times, a hair salon is not very relaxing and I think a private calm area in those kind of moments is very much appreciated.
When I walked in I was greeted by the lovely Dorothy and Lau, the hairstylist that was going to cut my hair. Lau brought to the room at the back where you get your hair washed and explained to me the haircare line called Joico that she was going to use on me. It is a hair system that will reconstruct and strengthen your hair. The products smelled great and my hair felt so healthy afterwards. Lau was really gentle while washing my hair and gave me amazing hair massages, which is always a plus. Adds to the whole relaxing experience. Then we headed upstairs, where she could cut and dry my hair while I started getting my nails done.
The lovely Anju was the one who did my nails. She was very nice and talented. Never seen someone apply nail polish so perfectly! She gave me a manicure and pedicure and made my nails look all shiny. During that Lau, cut my hair just the way I wanted and respected the length we had agreed on, which I find very rare with hairdresser, and she then gave me a beautiful blowdry.
Once my hair was done, Anju brought me to the beauty treatment rooms were I would get my facial. My facial was very nice and relaxing. She did a series of cleansers and face masks. Again she also was great at giving a head and shoulder massage. My skin felt hydrated and plumped immediately after the treatment.
I want to thank Dorothy for having me in hair salon and the very nice staff for taking such good care of me. It was a very pleasant experience that I would recommend to anyone who’s looking for a nice and professional salon. The scissor’s palace really stands out because it is a place where you can get all your treatments done in one place. It really is a hassle to make an appointment here for nails, then her for facial, over there for hair…also very time consuming. I love the idea that I can just go to one place and get everything done.
